This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our platform.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, and profile photo (from Google OAuth). We also collect booking information such as dates, times, and amounts. We automatically collect usage data including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited to improve our services.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: process and confirm bookings; send booking confirmation and transactional emails via AWS SES; allow hosts and guests to communicate; process payments via PayFast; improve our platform and personalise your experience; comply with legal obligations under South African law.
Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with: PayFast (payment processing); AWS (hosting and email infrastructure); the relevant host or guest for a confirmed booking. All our third-party partners are bound by data processing agreements.
Your Rights Under POPIA
You have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; request deletion of your account and data; object to the processing of your information; lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforeg@justice.gov.za.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Booking records are retained for 5 years for tax compliance purposes in accordance with SARS requirements.
